At the time, Bolton was at the peak of his career following the success of his 1991 album Time, Love and Tenderness and his 1992 collection Timeless. Bolton has returned to the Philippines multiple times since then, including a solo concert in 2006, a joint show with David Foster in 2011, and tours in 2015 and 2017.
He returned to Manila for his December 15, 1995 concert at Hard Rock Café Makati.

Ovation Productions has a long history of presenting Bolton in the Philippines, continuing into more recent decades with his "Asian Dream Tour" in 2017.
