First Appearance (1983): His Philippine debut was produced by Ovation Productions in 1983. He performed at the Folk Arts Theater (September 10 and 11, 1983) in Manila alongside fellow balladeers Stephen Bishop and Michael Johnson.
Late 1980s & 1990s: Following the success of his 1983 visit, David became a recurring performer in Manila and throughout the provinces. During this time, his hits like "The Old Songs" (1981) and "Got to Believe in Magic" (1982) became massive staples in the Philippines, leading to frequent concert invitations and TV appearances promoted by Ovation.
1999 Career Peak: The late 90s saw a massive resurgence with the release of the compilation album "Born for You — His Best and More" (1999), which became the best-selling international pop album in Philippine history. This era was marked by high-profile concert tours across the country.
Ovation Productions has continued to produce his shows well into the modern era, including his 2016 "King and Queen of Hearts World Tour" with Melissa Manchester and his 40th Anniversary "Coming Home" Tour in late 2023.
